Black Minds Matter RISE UP Conference 2021:
The inaugural Black Minds Matter: RISE UP Conference brought together mental health clinicians, community-based organizations, mental health startups and funders to explore themes of intersectionality, youth mental health, culturally responsive treatment, and advocacy within Black mental health. The two-day program highlighted some of the excellent work being conducted by community leaders within the Boston area, as well as faculty and staff within the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center and Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. The event honored the department’s mission to bring together different stakeholders to improve mental health experiences and outcomes within Black and brown communities.
Immigrant Minds Matter RISE UP Conference 2022:
Boston Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry second annual RISE UP Virtual Conference: Immigrant Minds Matter was held in 2022. This accredited conference brings together academic and community leaders to explore themes of intersectionality, youth & family mental health, equity in treatment, immigration related stress, barriers to care, and advocacy and policies within immigrant mental health.
Mission Statement:
“By bringing together mental health clinicians, community-based organizations, mental health startups and funders, we aim to explore what is known, what is experienced, and what we can improve to meet the mental health needs of immigrant communities in the U.S.”
