
LCPS Psychiatry Fellowship Program
The goal of the Fellowship Training Program is to produce medical specialists with high levels of knowledge of the causation, manifestations, management and prognosis of psychiatric disorders, and who can proficiently manage such disorders. The specialists will provide leadership in a multi-disciplinary mental health team, at all levels of care, provide effective teaching to all categories of health workers and public groups, and will be able to carry out relevant research in the field of mental health and related disciplines. They will also provide leadership in mental health service planning and administration at Government and international levels. The Fellowship program shall consist of 2 components to be carried out concurrently: clinical training and research training. The duration of the clinical training is 24 months and will be divided into the general track and specialty track. In the general track, rotations will include a total of 1 year in General Psychiatry (including Emergency Psychiatry) and 3 months of electives, 1 year in the subspecialty of interest, and 3 months of electives in any of the other subspecialties.
